Originally I come from Poland, I am living in East London with my husband and my little girl. I set up Small Faces after my baby was born, about a year ago. I work from my home studio, taking care of my daughter most of the time. I love painting and portrait painting, illustration is my full time job. I also teach painting. I feel a strong connection with nature, I love literature and trips to museums, galleries and countryside.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED ON ETSY?

When my daughter was born in November 2015, I instantly changed my views on my career and professional work. Being able to raise a happy, self-conscious and strong girl became my goal. I knew I would have to go back to work sooner or later and I decided I had to try something that would allow me spend more time with my baby and give her a good example to follow in her later years. I have a background in painting and a true passion for art. Then I found another passion - family life. I decided to create a product which would help people celebrate their family life, a kind of memorabilia. It became my personal success and my main source of income. It also makes me a better painter and gives a purpose to my work.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DESIGN/MAKING PROCESS:

I hand draw and paint all the portraits in illustrations. I mainly work in watercolour, ink and oil.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT RUNNING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?

The freedom it gives me and the feeling of having control over my own fate. It gives me the ability to follow my moods and go for a walk whenever I feel the need. I can spend a lot of time with my daughter and show her that women can create their own fate and be successful as mums and entrepreneurs.

WHEN AND WHY DID YOU JOIN THE TEAM?

I joined the team to meet more like minded people, who believe they can live their passion and make their living using their skills. I hope to be able to meet more members soon. I think Etsy creates an amazing community of people with dreams and purpose.
